Welcome to the Long Yarn Films blog. I’ve been sitting back for the last few weeks thinking about how to kick off something as bizarre as a business’ blog. In the end the only thing that seemed fair was that I should share a bit of my own yarn to get the ball rolling.
A few weeks back my lovely wife and I were fortunate enough to head down to the Jenolan Caves for a weekend away. It’s a place I haven’t visited since I was in primary school. The thing that struck me most on my trip this time around was just how little had changed inside those caves across the 25-odd years it’s been since my first visit (the famous Broken Column may have grown a fraction of a millimetre…).
It was a humbling experience to be reminded of the fact that not everything moves at our pace in life. But perhaps more so, it helped cement my decision to launch Long Yarn Films. It reminded me that unlike a stalagmite, we don’t all have millions of years to reach for the stars. So we have to be vigilant for the opportunities presented to us in life to do what matters most.
With that in mind I hope this blog will be able to help all of you learn a little bit more about how you can create your own life story video so that you can capture your family history for the generations to come.
